How big is a standard porta potty?
A standard porta potty is about 43.5 inches wide, 47 inches deep and 91.5 inches tall. The unit weighs about 165 pounds empty and holds about 60 gallons of waste. A 43.5-inch unit needs a gate at least 48 inches wide, plus room for two crew members to carry it.
| Spec | Value |
|---|---|

Will a standard porta potty fit through my gate?
A standard porta potty fits through a gate 48 inches wide or more. Most residential side gates are 36 to 42 inches, so the unit usually goes in the driveway instead. Units stand upright when carried. The truck must also park within hose reach, about 25 feet, for weekly pumping.
See placement and truck-access rules for slope, ground and overhead clearance.
How many people can use one standard unit?
One standard unit serves up to 50 guests for a 4-hour event, or up to 20 workers on a 40-hour week with weekly service. Those are our planning numbers. Heavy use, long shifts, heat or alcohol fill the 60-gallon tank faster, so add a unit or a second service visit.
Run your numbers in the unit calculator or compare against the deluxe flushing unit.

Questions renters ask us
Does it have a sink?
No. A standard unit has a hand sanitizer dispenser. Add a handwashing station or choose a deluxe unit with sink.
Does it lock?
Yes. The door has an inside latch with an occupied/vacant indicator. Ask about a hasp for locking it overnight on jobsites.
Is there a light?
The translucent roof lets daylight in. For night events, ask about battery lights or place the unit near site lighting.
Can I choose the color?
We stock blue, gray and pink units. Ask on the call; color depends on what is in the yard that week.
